Since July 2026, the European AI Act requires providers and deployers of AI systems to take measures to support the development of AI literacy among their staff and other persons dealing with the operation and use of AI systems on their behalf. This must take into account these persons' technical knowledge, experience, education and training, the context in which the AI system is used, and the persons or groups of persons the AI system is used on. The obligation does not require providers or deployers to guarantee any specific level of AI literacy for any individual.
For healthcare organisations, this can be a significant challenge: Who exactly needs which skills? How do you balance legal compliance with practical realities? What learning pathways and governance structures are effective in practice?
In this interactive workshop, we guide your organisation through the first steps of creating or refining your AI literacy program. We will help you identify key roles, map the required competencies, and set priorities for training and communication. We consider risks associated to the AI systems in use, and knowledge, experience, education of employees to define your AI literacy approach. You will leave with a structured plan outline that can be developed into a full AI literacy program, ensuring both compliance with the AI Act and, more importantly, safe, effective adoption of AI in your daily workflows. Get AI literacy on the board agenda and position it as an ongoing process, not a one-off project!
